Remove Anchor In Word For Mac
Every object like a text box is anchored to a paragraph, and it will always
appear on the same page as the paragraph to which it is anchored. So you
can't remove the anchor: it is the symbol that identifies the paragraph to
which your text box is anchored.
There are several things going on here at once, and you will have to
determine what it is, exactly, that you want to do.
1. You can decide to display or hide the anchors at Tools Options View.
Tick or un-tick the 'Object anchors' box.
2. You can decide whether a text box's anchor is locked to a paragraph. If
the anchor is locked then, obviously, you can't move it. This is very useful
for preventing accidents. Change the locking by clicking the textbox. Now,
Format Text Box. On the Layout tab, click Advanced. On the Picture
Position tab, tick or un-tick the Lock Anchor box.
When the anchor is locked, you can still drag the text box around the page.
But you can't drag the anchor, and the anchor itself is displayed with a
little lock on it.
Hope this helps.

How do I get remove the anchor - or the association between the anchor and
the text box - in a word document. the anchor impedes ability to freely
place the text box anywhere in the document without it shifting words in
the
regular text. Very annoying.

Step-by-step guide: How to insert anchors
HelpNDoc offers you the option of inserting anchors in your topics to further enhance the usefulness of your hyperlinks. By default, hyperlinks take readers to the beginning of specific topics. When you insert anchors within topics you get the added benefit of being able to create hyperlinks to those embedded anchors. As a result, readers can be taken to exact locations within topics, rather than the beginning of topics.
Step 1
Place your cursor in the text editor where you’d like to insert the anchor. You can click a word or place your cursor immediately before it. Or, you can highlight text. The anchor will be placed immediately above this location.
Step 2
Click Insert / Remove anchor in the Links section of the Insert ribbon tab. This displays the “Insert an anchor” window.
Step 3
After you assign a name to the anchor, click OK.
